Pocket rocket Grace Gullo has become a national gymnastic champion at 10 years of age

Pocket rocket Grace Gullo has become a national gymnastic champion at 10 years of age.

The Year 6 student from Sinnamon Park won gold on vault, bars and floor to be named allaround champion for Level 9 under 13 at the artistic gymnastic titles.

“It feels really good. I feel really proud of myself and I’m very happy,” Gullo said.

“It was a really big surprise that I did this well.”

Gullo, a Splitz Gymnastics athlete who was invited to train at Queensland’s high performance centre at six years of age, was particularly pleased with her performance on vault and bars.

But she felt she could have done better with her floor landings and on beam, where she fell off.

“If you fall, you just have to get back up again and always try,” she said, adding that her ultimate aim is to compete for Australia at the Commonwealth Games.  Read the full article here
