Splitz Gym Fundraising Committee

Splitz has a fundraising committee dedicated to raising money to help out gymnasts to benefit all levels and groups.  This year, the committee is raising money to have installed two Big Ass Fans to keep the gymnasts and their coaches cooler when that hot weather is here.

Fundraising Committee Meetings

Our fundraising committee meetings start at 6.30pm and will be held in the waiting area of the gym.

Please get involved, we would love to have you come and join us and be part of a great and friendly team all working together in raising monies giving back to all our awesome gymnasts of all ages and groups.

Each month the Splitz fundraising committee hold a sausage sizzle and a car wash to aid in assisting our gymnasts (of all levels and groups).  The roster below has a different group assigned to each month to help with the sausage sizzle and car wash - a real team and club effort in coming together as one!

Executive Committee Members

Meet Splitz Gym's awesome fundraising committee members

President

Lauren Thelan

Lauren describes Splitz as her second home with a son and daughter both involved in competitive gymnastics.  She says gymnastics has helped to develop her children both as individuals and as team players.  Her involvement in the Splitz Fundraising Committee is driven by her wish to give back in a way that benefits all Splitz gymnasts.

Vice President

Shirley Wienand

Shirley believes the fundraising committee's role is to be transparent and show parents and kids what its funds are spent on and how they will benefit everyone.  She would like to see the committee raise $30,000 a year to support the gym and its gymnasts from both the competitive and recreational programs.  Shirley aims to have industrial fans installed in the gym, have working bees to clean up inside and outside the gym, and believes in full collaboration with coaches and parents to make Splitz Gym a happy place for our all children to train.  Shirley's son is a MAG gymnast at Splitz

Treasurer

Jodie Woodall

Jodie and her son, a senior MAG gymnast, spend an enormous amount of time at the gym, which was one of the reasons she decided to become involved in the Splitz Fundraising Committee.  She believes the committee plays an important role in giving back to the club and to the gymnasts who put so much effort into their sport.  Jodie is also an amazing photographer and you will often see her around the gym taking photos for Splitz Gym's Instagram feed and Facebook page.

Secretary

Jane Rowan

Jane turned up at the first Fundraising Committee meeting in her marketing role and ended up as committee secretary.  The shorthand she developed during her two decades as a journalist certainly come in handy for this role!  Jane's daughter is a WAG gymnast, who has been training at Splitz since 2011.  As a former gymnast and coach, Jane is passionate about the sport of gymnastics and believes that it has amazing benefits for every child.  She believes the Fundraising Committee plays an important function in recognising the achievements of all Splitz gymnasts.

Debbie Kropp
Donations Officer

Debbie has a WAG gymnast granddaughter, who started at Splitz in 2014 in Jumpstart and quickly moved  into competitive levels. Like many other parents and carers (and of course, the gymnasts), Debbie basically lives at Splitz, particularly as she also has a role as the club's Member Protection Information Officer. Debbie loves the feeling of family that exists at the club through all the hours spent at training, competitions or Splitz events, and committee meetings.  As Donations Officer, Debbie believes she helps to unite our community even further through the donations and sponsorship packages that involve local businesses and our extended community.  This will further assist all Splitz gymnasts to have fun and achieve recognition for their hard work and achievements.
