At Splitz Gym we have a three-tiered competitive program for our WAG and MAG gymnasts, catering for a variety of abilities and levels and programs: Levels Program, Development Program, Teams Program, depending on your child's physical attributes, age, and ability. Competitive levels begin at Level 4 and finish at Level 10.
All gymnasts must be registered with Gymnastics Qld (GQ). The registration fee includes annual GA membership and insurance, which runs on a calendar year basis. This compulsory fee must be paid in full before training commences. Registration is charged at the time of joining and is then renewed in Term 4 for the upcoming calendar year.
WAG and MAG gymnasts gain essential skills and being part of a team through regular engagement with the Gymnastics Queensland competition calendar. Our gymnasts attend different competitions different Invitationals held at other clubs and our own club, Regional Championships (Brisbane South), State Championships, and National Championships both on a individual. Check out our calendar for dates here.
We know families have very busy schedules! Our Splitz Gym classes and programs are available Monday to Saturday at family and school friendly times. Our competitive programs require a greater time commitment, but we aim to be as flexible as possible within the constraints of each level's training requirements. We also has a "kiss and drop" area for easy drop offs and pickups.
Our Splitz Gym WAG and MAG gymnasts both have compulsory club uniform items that are required to be worn at all competitions. Our development Team also wear their compulsory black training leotard each monday. Details regarding these are in our handbooks. Splitz Gym also sells a range of loops, loop bags, scrunchies, and tape, making it easy for our gymnasts to remain stocked up on some essential training tools.
At Splitz Gym We also hold several in-house events including Club Championships for our lower levels, an Awards Night, and an Annual Display Day. These are a great opportunity for the wider family to applaud our gymnasts' skills. Bring grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins and make these family days. We love seeing families cheer for their kid. We also have events that we open to the public to attend, like our Open Day where kids can come and try out our gym while having lots of fun. All these dates and events can be found on our events calendar.
Letters of offer for the upcoming competitive year are distributed in (school) Term 3 for WAG and MAG gymnasts. These letters can be a promotion for those gymnasts already in the competitive program or an invitation to Jumpstart gymnasts who have been identified as suitable for competitive gymnastics. Each gymnast are required to confirm acceptance of the letter of offer and re-enrol before the start of Term 4. One months' notice must be given for withdrawal from any of our competitive programs.
